    Fuel Pump 40658

You won't really see this in the picture but the stamp says : 283 K 40658. Does it look correct, what would the 283 K mean . Thanks in advance. Jeffimage.jpg

I once owned 4 NOS AC fuel pumps all stamped "DI 40658" on the flange ("DI" = April 1969).
    AC # 40658 = GM # 6417337, correct for 1968 Corvette (327) and 1969 Corvette (350) models.
    GM # 6417337 was discontinued in August 1971 and replaced with GM # 6470110 (AC # 40709).

I would say your 283 K 40658 pump was dated the 283rd day of 1971.

While the GM #6417337 was discontinued in August, 1971 from the GM parts system, the AC 60658 fuel pump lived on for many years in the Delco parts system. Most folks didn't know that. When I found that out years ago, I bought a bunch of them.
