    Many potential problems.

In THEORY, Loosen ALL of the mounting bolts on ONE side of the car. (The 4 body mount bolts plus whatever attachments between the front of the car and the frame. ) REMOVE the body mount bolt in question. LIFT the entire side of the car enough to REMOVE/REPLACE the rubber mount in question.

Now the PROBLEMS: The entire side of the car must be free to lift so as not to damage the birdcage or crack fiberglass. Not only have the rubber mounts deteriorated, but the bolts/nuts are likely to be rusted. I tried this side lift approach on my 1980 and ended up spinning the cage nut on the #3 mount (the one infront of the rear tire). This necessitated a body off in order to repair the caged nut on the top of the frame.

Another problem you may discover when replacing the rubber mount is that the mounting surface UNDER the rubber may be rusted out. The frame will look ok from the outside but be rusted out. This happened to both sides of the frame on #4 on my 1980 and necessitated welding new attachment pieces.

Soak the bolts/nuts with PB Blaster / Kroil / or other rust buster fluid for several days prior to loosening.

Some folks do the side lift approach with no problems, but that was not my experience. Good Luck!
