    F40 Shock Characteristics

I am doing some well deserved sprucing up to my 66 which came with F40. Yesterday I removed the rear shocks & noted that their travel moved Down very easily, but the return or "UP" needs a long hard Tug----------Is this normal or are these supposed to have a similar amount of resistance both ways ? This is my 1st F40 car so I am not sure if these are good or shot.

    Thank you

    Fred

Fred, that is normal, really should not check by full range of movement off the car ,oil charged shocks are metered , in real world driving, shocks on car shock will do the job of dampening with small movements, the way to check shock would be to jounce up and down a couple of times and see how they recover, should not see up and down motion more that once.

      Thanks Ed,
When I put her back on the ground again I will check. I thought I read somewhere that these shocks have more (or should I say) faster movement one way than the other. I appreciate your help.
