Which gets more points- I have the used original glove box papers, owners manual and plastic bag they definitely show wear since they are 1970 ORIGINALS. Some of the repro papers look to be 99% correct, probably just a good photocopy or a original.
The repro plastic bags and repro owners manuals I understand do show as less than perfect copies, but they are condition new.
I understand CDCIF . If I read counterfeit vs restoration these are simply a replacement intent to restore to original state so no 20% problem . I want as much original as possible BUT this stuff IS 45 YEARS OLD What does it take to TOP FLIGHT ?????? Thanks

Bob, I would imagine that most judges would prefer to see original papers that have survived albeit in worse condition than fresh reproduction papers that you can purchase anywhere. As far as scoring, go for an original item whenever possible.

With most judges, brand new reproduction papers will not earn full credit in the originality column. Percentage will vary with the item. Pointwise, the loss for old original vs. new reproduction could be about the same, just in different columns. And unless originals are really really bad, they may get a pass (no deduction) for condition. I have seen that many times.

write a book on .

I would have to agree that original items will be better and will score the best at a regional... Make sure that you know what you have so judges don't give you unnecessary deductions like what happened to me... Good luck

OK, real deal it is. The am-fm instructions and wheel instructions are really hard to tell repro from original owner manual, easy to tell difference.

Of course, originals trump repro every time -- unless the original item has completely deteriorated into its individual molecules...
