    67 parking brake cable

I wonder if someone could post a few pics of the installation of the 67 parking brake cable to the rear axle area. I'm interested in close-ups of the mounting of the two cable ends to the trailing arm brackets, as well as the two inboard attachments to the frame, and the mounting of the equalizer to the frame.

    Thanks,
    Mike

Mike, the ends where they terminate at the actual wheel are held on by the "mouse ear" clips & then run through a white nylon friction clip so the cables will not rub on the steel of the frame or trailing arms. Check out your AIM. It shows it quite well.

Thanks, I got the ends OK, but this 67 cable is on a 63 (it has 67 trailing arms and 67 discs) and I don't know where to weld the brackets to the reproduction frame. A pic of the locations of frame brackets would help more that the AIM.

Mike, Here are a few '67 pics, but before you weld them I'll get some measurements to you next time I raise it on my lift today. The cables are very tight when in position where the mouse clips hold them in place so you want it accurate the first time.

Ping noted. Never got it up on the lift yesterday as I was working underneath on the rear spring and the engine bay. Heading out to the shop momentarily and just inked a note on my hand as a reminder.

Thanks Rich, I appreciate the effort. I should be in good shape now.

Richard, did you save your original e-brake cables? I noticed that you have aftermarket cables installed. There are some differences as noted in the attached photo. I found that and decided to refurbish my originals. Now have a set of "spare" aftermarket cables..........
