Thanks Larry. Are service replacement tanks normally dated?

        Yes............

You can buy a correctly dated reproduction from a number of Corvette Suppliers if you want/need one.

This dated reproduction tank was made by DeWitts and sold through Paragon. I know that other parts houses also sell the DeWitts tanks.

Thanks Mike. Just seems odd to put a 77 date code on, when 77 cars did not have exp. tanks.

Glenn, the tank was supplied by GM not one of today's parts suppliers. What GM did was date all their tanks with year and month when they were made. So in your case a prior owner went to GM (Chevrolet) in 1977 for a new tank to replace a broken tank on his 1967. Thus the 77 date.
