I used the Noland Adams plans and it fit fine and supported the body good. I would build it higher if I built another one so you can get up under it easier.

I built one out of deck lumber that would hold a bus and while strong it does limit space to work so I would second Brandon's comment to make it so it is easy to get under and reach areas.

Bob, I built a dolly for my '56 in order to take the body off the frame. I used the plans in Noland Adams body lift book. Much to my dismay it did not fit the body as I felt it should have. There was also no support for the rear of the body which I later added myself. Till I did this I had a strap going from the firewall to the front side of the trunk. C-1 Corvette body mounts are all on the same plane height wise. You would be better off getting the dimensions from the ST-12 shop manual and build your own dolly. I wish you all the best with your project. Brooks Glover Jr. (2141)

To support the rear I made a cross brace to run from the trunk mounting points but I also set a 4" x 4" in the tunnel in the rear wheel well opening and support it from there.

You can't make it too strong if it is going to be off the frame for an extended period. I know by experience! Eric

Bob - Here are my plans for the body dolly I built and have been very happy with. Page 1 is the improved design that my '54 is currently sitting on. Page 2 is the original design that I used for my '59. Support is provided at all 10 body mount locations plus in front under the radiator bracket. Use some lag bolts through the body mount holes to secure the body to the dolly. Tim
