    Thanks will give the OA Wrench a try if the oven doesnt work. Am a little afraid of getting it too hot with the torch I guess if you leave it mostly acetylene it will be OK

      That's what you want, just a nice soft flame. We had a boatyard on the gulf coast and if you made the mistake of washing the pistons and not oiling the pins they would stick within 2-3 weeks. You can also warm them up and put them in a bucket with diesel fuel.

        OH that sounds like a great idea thanks. this is just the kind of real world experience I was hoping to tap into!!
        I have another set of used pistons that have been in my garage for about 20 years I bet they are stuck too!
        IT seems like maybe its a good I dea not to leave the pins in the bore!?!?!

          A carburizing flame and playing the heat source around (mainly on the piston head) should spread the heat around nicely. If you can heat the piston and shock the pin, it very well might loosen for you. Also with heat, an application of a penetrant might help to achieve success as the heat will allow the capillary action of the penetant to occur readily between the pin and pin bore.
