part # for temp sending unit for 1971 LT-1

Can anyone provide the correct part # for the temp sending unit (drivers side), for a 1971 LT-1. I replaced it recently, but still not registering the correct temp on center console gauge. Someone had given it to me, so may be the wrong one. Thanks. Also, is there a book or guide that can give me all the correct part #'s for my car?

The ORIGINAL part number was GM #6400759. However, it's long-since GM-discontinued. There are replacements available but many folks have complained about the accuracy when they are installed.
