1957 engine stamp

All of the engine stamps I have seen are on the lower part of the pad. Has anyone ever seen a stamp on the upper part of the pad?

I have seen a lot of Corvette and passenger car blocks and all seam to in lower part .

Small block engines were stamped with the heads on, so there was no room for the tool on the upper part of the pad.

I'd guess with the engine assembled before it was stamped, the proximity of the head would make the stamping process more easily performed near the bottom?
