    63 BW 4 speed shifter/tranny

Having problems with the shifter locking up,got it to go into reverse 1st and second but when I try for 3rd it locks up. used the proper gage on the shifter after putting all the levers in neutral.got this thing on the road today for the first time up and down my street and just going from 1st to second figuring it may help loosen things up in the tranny as it was a complete rebuild by a reputable tranny guy,but once I got back on the lift and put it into 3rd it locked up again, anyone know how to remedy this as it is driving me CRAZY. Thanks Robert

    Robert,

Would suggest that you consult with your tranny guy and go with his suggestions.

Was the shifter working ok before the tranny rebuild? If so agree with Joe, talk to rebuilder. If it is a new shifter to you, check to make sure tou have the right shifter arms.

one 62 shifter arm is a bit longer than the 63 arms for the T-10 shifter which is otherwise identical and a mix up would cause one arm to interfere with the 63 frame. ?????

Robert, I myself have found the 63 b/w transmission shifters and linkage are very finicky, even more so when there is some wear, try putting the transmission in neutral and unhook the linkage on transmission, then install the block and then see if the arms will slide on to trans, without any movement.

The shifter would work fine on anither T-10. Probably not your case but the interference is a 62 and below shifter arm snagging on a 63 and up frame.
