C2 Parking Brake Cable Part Numbers and differences

I purchased a good used OEM rear parking brake cable for my 66. At the time I didn't realize that there are different part numbers, so I'm not sure what I have.

    This is the rear cable:

65 and 66 AIM have part number 3866427
67 AIM has part number 3910712

What is the physical difference in these cables? and how can I tell if what I have is correct for the 66?

    Thanks,

    Don

The 65 rear cable is two piece with a sheet metal yoke to join the two sections. The 67 is one. Total different animals.

Mine is a 66 and the AIM shows a single cable and that is what the vendors sell. Long Island shows a single cable (same LIC part number for 65 and 66 and specifies disk brake) and list a different cable for 67. LIC sells two piece cables for 64 & 65 drum brake cars.

Do you know the difference between the 66 cable and 67 cable?

I have all the C2 AIMs on a CD and the 65 AIM and 66 AIM show a single cable, while the 64 AIM shows two cable with a coupler near the equalizer.

Was this perhaps a change in late 65 production or specific to disk brakes?

      Thanks,

      Don

        Hi Don,
The parts book lists the 3866427 as the service part number for the rear cable from 1965 with disc brake on through 1967 and beyond. It shows 87 1/2" O.L.
        Regards

Thanks, I think what I have should work.

Wonder why the 67 AIM has a different part number?
