I just finished most of the interior on my 71 LT-1 coupe, this was a body off complete restoration, I still have the steering column just laying on the floor, but before I install it I wanted to test what I could electric wise, just about everything is working except the following and I am looking for a starting point on correcting it. I get in the car turn on the headlights the speedo on the left side the L turn signal arrow light is on solid, the right side being the tachometer everything is working fine, I turn on the left turn signal it flashes as normal, turn signal off solid lighted arrow again, none of the speedo gauge lights come on, but when I turn the headlamp switch counter clockwise to courtesy lights the speedo lights work, but no courtesy lights, the courtesy lights do not work when doors open or the switch turned counter clockwise, so that is my issue, I have all the wire charts as far as I know everything is done correctly, but it looks like maybe not, any ideas where to start?, thanks Ron

Re: Wiring issue I think
Good work. Because of the need for so many ground wires on our plastic bodied cars, it seems they have nearly twice the number of wires as steel cars of similar vintage. I've chased down so many electrical issues only to find the cause to be a missing, loose or dirty ground.
And don't get me started about looking for vacuum leaks in the sea of tubing on 68-72 cars.Mark Edmondson
