Outside Mirror Gasket - April 63 car

Well it's raining here so I decided to go through my judging sheets. On my April 20, 63 car I lost a point due to an incorrect gasket on my outside mirror. I just pulled it off and it is very thin rubber. After going through the archives the rubber appears to be correct.

    Opinions please.

    Thanks

Harry, I went through this with my 63 at the chapter the guys where following the judging guide, which said paper at one time, but its a plastic gasket on the earlier and paper on the later outside mirror, which do you have?

I have very think black rubber. But if it's paper, is it natural paper color or black paper?

The 63/64 JG says dark fiber paper.

I am not sure on the exact paper color but thought it was a brown or tan color.

The 63 and 64 AIM shows the gasket as 5942906. It's a black plastic (could be rubber - not taking it off) gasket that its completely under the side mirror, it can not be seen outside of the foot print of the base.

            Harry,
On your April car do you have the early long base style or late short base style mirror

Bob, it's the last short base.

Ed, I have both types. I'm just trying to figure out what is correct, sounds like dark thin paper.
