67' headlight bucket tab broke; fix??

    67' headlight bucket tab broke; fix??

    One of the side tabs broke on my headlight bucket. I have the broken piece (which is small and thin) and am looking for suggestions on how to fix it? It is pot metal so welding won't work. Also what is the function of this tab? See pic.

      That tab holds a "C" clip that holds the screw that holds the headlight cover. I would put the clip on the other direction and forget about it
