64 Ignition Shield Installation

My question involves the orientation of the left rear spark plug shield and the left spark plug wire shield. Does the 'tab' on the rear of the plug shield go up inside or stay outside of the wire shield? I've seen it done both ways. The assembly manual, section U69, appears to show the 'tab' oriented to the outside of the wire shield.

Ed, the tab is on the outside of the vertical shield.

Ed, thanks for answering my question. I've had many discussions about this with other owners, with most absolutely positive that the 'tab' goes inside the vertical shield.

Ed, At my last regional I was dinged for having mine on the inside. Which I also thought was correct.

When I'm not showing my cars NCRS it's on the inside, because it looks much better that way. When on the flight field it goes outside to avoid the discussion.
