BB front license plate bracket 1966 C2

In the US you guys a lucky as it seems the police or its law you don't have to display a front number plate, in the UK we get nailed,

so I have 66 BB with ac fitted, looking at Nolands vol 2 page 408 it shows the plate off set, it also shows the bracket to be used. looking through the paragon catalog ref front bumper page 92 they have the bracket under part number 14128 -

Question - when I purchase the bracket I then need to drill through the right hand front bumper support bracket so as to secure the front plate bracket ? Which I attach the number plate to

Hope that makes sense, as always any advice help or pointers much appreciated

I recall discussion on this in the past but not much more.

I did a search and here is one thread that MIGHT be of interest although it's not specific to your question. There are others, too.

BTW, the police in New York can also be fussy about the front tag thing!

Thanks Rich, viewed this one and another forum question ref BB ac cars front licence bracket - really looking for the guy or gal who says yep get your bracket, line it up with you bracket support right hand side bumper, Mark a hole drill and fix , or hold on there's a better way of doing this.

only BB cars with a auto and AC got the relocated front plate bracket. Its shown in the AIM under RPO C-60 L-36 with M-35. In short it shows a drawing of two holes locations needed to be drilled in the bumper bracket for 5/16 blots to hold the bracket

Thanks Keith for the info, so a BB 427 / 390 4 speed with AC did not get the relocated number plate to the side ? I'll probably fit the plate there anyway as I like the off set look at the front.
There's also no mention of the off set bracket in the 5th edition 66 judging manual - so would you get marked down for that ?

Only 66-67 427/390 and 427/400 with a auto and AC got the relocated plate bracket.
