    Re: Engine overheating

    Ron,
A 190 degree thermostat is just that it will not open till 190 degrees. It does not limit temperature. I suggest a lower 160 degree unit. At least it will allow for a lower temp to start opening. I don't even run my car at 190 at maximum when it is at full running temperature.

      Re: Engine overheating

This thread is brain-dead! How can you guys offer so much advice knowing so little?

I can understand how frustrating it must be for service writers. Here's a short scene from a play I'm writing. A customer walks into a service facility without the car.

Customer: My car makes a funny noise.

Service writer: What's the make, model, and year?

      Customer: It's a Corvette.

Service writer: ...model year and engine option?

      Customer: I don't know.

Service writer: Can you describe the noise?

      Customer: It sounds "funny".

Service writer: Can you be more specific?

      Customer: No.

Service writer: Where is it coming from?

Customer: I don't know... somewhere inside the car.

Service writer: I'm sorry, but I don't think we can help you. Try Bubba's Auto Repair two blocks over on Main St.

UCLA beat Utah and I'm feeling no pain.
