    pic needed - 64 300HP fuel line

    Hi all,

I have a fuel line kit from LI Corvette which does not look like what is shown in my AIM. The AIM shows a single line to the carb from the pump. This one is multiple pieces and I may be missing a filter. A picture would help a lot.

    Thanks,
    Greg

Greg, I'm pretty sure this '63 300HP is similar. It is one piece from pump to a GF 90 metal can filter, but then a short line from the GF 90 filter to the AFB front fuel inlet fitting.

If the AIM is showing only one line, then you may be looking at the Base engine(250HP) which uses the WCFB as opposed to the AFB for the 300HP. The AIM Section L75 is the area you want to reference.

Rich is spot on for both engines....my split window was set up like a 300hp motor with the AFB and GF-90 filter (incorrectly) when I put on the correct intake and WCFB carb it had just the one hard fuel line and no filter. A couple of cautions -- use good "line" wrenches to tighten/loosen the fuel lines, watch the angle of the fittings during assembly (get those 45* fittings on wrong and it will burst brain cells), and, loosely assemble everything (all connections at pump/carb/filter) until you get the final alignment of components correct (particularly the filter) then snug things down cycling from one fitting to another in several steps...

One other note - the carb to filter hard line is directional ... it has a bend in it that is NOT in the middle of the line...don't get that flipped around or you'll think you've got the wrong parts when you really don't...

Excellent pictures and advice, guys. That you kindly.

I will need to pick up the filter and mount as those were missing from my car along with the hard line.

Thanks, Alan! As a bonus you provided me some help on my exhaust manifolds from this issue.
