This is regarding the aluminum intake on a 66 L79 engine.
The TIM&JG says there is "a light spray of aluminum paint on the sides" of the aluminum intake. I assume this was to cover the black phosphate mounting bolts.
Further in the TIM&JG it says "The thermostat housing is cast iron, painted silver".
I have the LIC dull aluminum paint for the intake, but my question is the thermostat housing. I found another thread that says "The thermostat housing is installed on the intake manifold before any paint operations so the housing, bolts and the edge of the gasket will be coated with dull aluminum paint".
Should the thermostat housing be painted with the dull aluminum or with silver?
Thanks,
Don
