I have a 1969 350/350 with M21 transmission and need to know what was the original part number for the throw out bearing. I have found numerous post about throw out bearing issues but could not find a part number. I have a 908092 bearing that looks like the original that I removed except it has 'pin' through the grove where the clutch fork fits. The original does not have the pin. Thanks for any information. Steve------
The original bearing was GM #907963. GM #908092 is a later SERVICE bearing for, as far as Corvettes go, only early 1955. It is also applicable to many other Chevrolet applications. It is a 1-7/8" long bearing and is absolutely NOT the one to use on any Corvette other than the aforementioned. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 1969 Throw Out Bearing Question
Steve------
By the way, the original release bearing (i.e. GM #907963) was 1-7/32" in length. That bearing was discontinued more than 35 years ago and replaced by a bearing that was 1-1/4" length. Several part number supercessions occurred over the years. Currently, the applicable part number is GM #19245400.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
