If I had an original pad on a 425HP 66, there would surely not be any rust accumulating on it.

Rust tends to look hokey and can suggest something is being hidden, but there are no obvious bad characters here.

Naval Jelly has worked for me. It may take a day or two of nursing it along.

As Patrick says the characters look good and the line is perfectly straight. Too Straight!
Also the hash marks are shallow as if rusted and worked but the characters are crisp and deep.
Just a few things to make me wonder. What if?

I agree with Joe and Patrick they are to straight in line, it don't look right.
