I am getting ready to sell my 1988 35th anniversary corvette. I'm asking for some idea's of where I should start with a asking price. Many of you have seen this car at show or even have judged it. It has taken me as far as I wanted to go and achieved the awards I was hoping for. I currently has 14, 000 miles; #2011 of 2050; no damage or signs of wear; complete documents with all delivery papers. Awards, BG, Survivor, Gold Certified; (2) chapter Top Flights; Regional Top Flight; asked by NCM to be a Feature display (I took back this car JUST before the sink hole, I would have been the vet sticking out of the hole if still displayed there. Considered by many as the "lucky one" from the "great 8"; MCACN Triple Diamond; many local shows awards and several articles, pictures along with promotional video's have been published about this vette. I'm sure there is much more information needed to properly price this 1988 out. If it's possible to get some input from the great vette experts here with NCRS, I would so much appreciate your comments, questions or thoughts as to where I might begin. THANKS. V/R Steven Gilboy 53767.

Re: Need help on pricing a 1988 35th anniversary Corvette
Hello Steven,
You could start by taking a look at Hagerty's Price Guide Report site to get some idea as to the value. Just looking at that I noticed the value has shown an increase in value for the car in the condition yours is in. Plus, your car has all the important documentation and of course the honor of being on display at the museum. Lucky you took it back when you didGreat story.

Re: Need help on pricing a 1988 35th anniversary Corvette
35th's in condition 1 can range in 20K - 28k. Sounds like you have a great example of this year and could expect high range, provided the right buyer steps forward.
I'm in the process of detailing / preparing to sell my 88, not a 35th, not the same value as yoursI always loved that 88, what a fun car! Good luck, sounds like a great car.

Re: Need help on pricing a 1988 35th anniversary Corvette
The hobby is going through some very trying times right now. As old Bob Wingate used to say there's an ass for every seat, just have to find both people willing to buy am willing to sell at agreed-upon price.
Even the 63 split windows, and 67 big block 435's are going through adjustments. The good news is you have all the documentation and certification required in today's environment to sell a quality collector car. The question is will A buyer step up and pay the fair price. I think the above comments are accurate as far as values are concernedOver 80 Corvettes of fun ! Love Rochester Fuel Injection 57-65 cars. Love CORVETTE RACE CARS

Re: Need help on pricing a 1988 35th anniversary Corvette
There is a 50th anniversary convertible with 40 miles on it, still has the original sticker on it and they are asking 55k (the original price). I think you are in the 25-30k range in that condition, though I think if you held it to 2018 she would be worth more.Last edited by Larry B.; October 27, 2015, 10:24 AM.- Top

Re: Need help on pricing a 1988 35th anniversary Corvette
Thank you James. If I just keep it for awhile and put on another 6K miles..meaning it still would be under 20K, would that be wise? Like I said, I have done all the certification I want with this car. I'm thinking I just will drive it otherwise. I bought it with under 5K.- Top

Thanks for the start Jimmy. I know the C4's are not on the have to have corvette guys list and just wasn't sure what NCRS guys believe I might be able to ask for this car. I'm not in this to make money, just find great original vettes and bring them to the surface.- Top

Re: Need help on pricing a 1988 35th anniversary Corvette
You are welcome Steven,
Taking everything listed above into consideration if you still decide to put it out there for sale now, my advice to you would be to wait until spring when everyone is getting their cars ready for the new season etc. Now, (fall) isn't the best time of the year to try to sell because everyone (most everyone) puts the cars away for winter and interest isn't as high. Take it from me on this, I was given this same advice when I decided to sell my 86 coupe. I didn't wait and sold it in Oct. 2014 for well under what I really wanted. They say that "patience is a virtue" in your case because your car is an anniversary edition as others suggested above you may want to wait.
Good luck with whatever decision you make.Jimmy
