spray can paint that looks like zinc-plated

Has anyone found spray can paint that looks close to that of a zinc-plated part?
    Thanks Bob

Valspar makes several different metallic spray paints, one of which is very close to zinc hue. I re-painted a few old zinc fasteners as well as the original long bolts that hold on the spare tire cover on my 63 and they all passed judging easily.

Don't know the actual Valspar name for it, but I purchased it at Lowes a couple of years ago. You may have to try a couple of flavors to get the right one...I don't think you can make a large surface look plated, but on the small stuff, it works fine.

          Hi Bob,
I used VHT high temp aluminum on some small parts about 10 years ago, I thought it gave a bright zinc appearance. I have also used cold galvanizing compound buffed with a rag after drying but was not really happy with the result, more of a dull look.
          Kind regards,
          Pete

Go to Michaels crafts and purchase a product called Rub and Buff. The color to use is called dull silver it costs about 4.00 Use a soft tooth brush and lightly spread the product over your bolts they will cover rather easily then buff off excess with a flannel rag. You will be amazed at what it looks like. Intake manifolds can be coated also as this product is not affected by gasoline.

Another picture that shows better...did the top of my idler arm. Great "cheater" coating...and easy touch up if needed.

Re: spray can paint that looks like zinc-plated

Today getting parts cadmium plated is increasingly difficult and very expensive.
Zinc plating is readily available and very cheap to have done. John
