Ncm track noise

I read on the CF that some people that live near the track are suing NCM for noise issues. Some on there say people are just whining & others say that NCM did not do what the said they would to keep noise down. Dose anyone know what the real story is? I can't imagine this wasn't addresses before it was built or what is the museum not doing that they said they would?

As a founding and lifetime member of the NCM I've been watching this story over the past few months. From what I have been able to determine the NCM did not put all the noise reduction berms/barriers in place that they had agreed to prior to the opening of the Motorsports Park. Much of this work has been done now (in response to complaints or done as scheduled?), but not before getting the community upset and fines/lawsuits initiated. It's not like buying a house near the airport and then complaining about the noise since the homes were there first and it would seem to be incumbent on the NCM to conform with any noise regulations that were in place for the area. Hopefully this can be resolved without serious damage to the relationship between the neighbors and the NCM. I realize the NCM has brought a lot of economic stimulis to the area but they still need to play by the rules and if in fact they didn't, there is valid reason to challenge them. There will always be some who complain whenever there is change to their situation and that is at least some of the reason for animosity toward the track. A big committment has been made for the Motorsports Park and it can't afford to fail. That's the understanding I have of the situation; if anyone has other points/comments I would be glad to see them.
