1967 correct rally wheels for early production

I have a 67' coupe with a production date of Sept 20th vin#1147 which wheels are correct "DC" or "B"? I have heard of cars having "DC" and "B" wheels on the same car that were produced during the period of transition between the two can anyone verify?

My white '67 which is over 700 earlier than yours is all "B".

My 67 is a September 23 build and it had two replacement wheels (FI) and two DC and one B stamped wheel. The DC wheels are a 66 date but the month is not readable because it's stamped on a bend, I believe these DC wheels to be original so IMO a mix of DC and B stamped wheels is OK.

My December 5th production date 67 Corvette (5205) has "broken" DC wheels.

Check the Restorer, there was an article about this a few years ago!

Quite a while back, there was a survey done on early production cars showing the wheel codes for those cars. Attached is the first page from that survey. I would not suggest this as 100% fact. But is does indicate a guide for the wheel codes for early production cars.

Bob - Our Sept 1966 built '67, S/N #1467 has 5 "B" stamped Rallye wheels. All of these wheels are dated 8 66. Since I have no idea how long the lead time was for wheels to make it from the manufacturer's facility to Corvette Plant in St. Louis & to get into the system, it might be possible to have wheels dated 9 66 be they "B"or "DC" to be on late September 1966 cars. To date I do not know that any 9 66 "B" wheels have been reported.

My 1967 s/n 179 has 5 "B" stamped Rallye wheels. I think they are all dated 8/66.

Number #350 is all "B" as you would expect.

#512 had all "B"
