    Replacing lock sets/ignition/doors. Difficulty?

I am hoping to replace the ignition and door lock sets. The present ignition is worn, afraid the key may break off. Is the ignition lock set replacement able to be accomplished without removing the dash panel...ie..from interior access only? Simply removing the ignition with a paper clip and turning the key counter clockwise?
    Thanks

Thanks. I have seen lock sets in VolVette. Considering ordering and replacing. Wanted to get some idea of the complexity of replacement. Sounds like ignition is as I suspected/have seen in videos. Simple?

Since winter is approaching I would take the ignition switch out and the door locks and send them to Pete Lindahl, then everything would still be orginal to the car. You can get new keys with the knockouts. You may want to send the glove box lock and spare tire lock also.
To remove the door lock you will need to remove the door panels. Not hard at all. You could put together a little NCRS tech session for your chapter and have the wisdom from the other members.

Kent, I am with Gary, just bring your locks to a lock smith or use Pete Lindahl. using your original locks and ignition switch is the best way. replacing the tumblers in each lock will keep the keys the same key. I am not sure about 65 but My 63 has numbers stamped on the all the cylinders which tells you the key code for making the key and which tumblers to use when rebuilding the cylinders.
