On my 65 hard top rear retaining bezel there is a black gasket that fits between the stainless bezel and the painted surface The original gasket is small (13/16) and fits in the cavity of the bezel , it cant be seen when installed . The long island gasket (15/16) is big and sticks out past the bezel . It looks like a nice fitting door lock gasket . Did my original 50 year old gasket shrink that much or is the long Island part that far off ? The current judging manual is no help on the part .DSCN1946.jpgDSCN1948.jpgDSCN1951.jpgDSCN1952.jpgsorry for the poor close ups .

Re: 65 hard top rear retaining bezel
I agree with Wayne. All originals I've ever seen on cars are not that big. Same with the '56 up C1's. I just saw some nos pieces in a bag I have somewhere and they're much smaller.
I always cut repro pieces like that if they're wrong. They're probably the same things you can get at ACE. Suppliers buy large quantities for pennies and mark them up 10,000% for reasons we all know why. If they were only the right parts I wouldn't mind it so much.- Top
