Antenna cable / rear harness routing

I am replacing the coax antenna cable on my '65 coupe. Just inboard and under the door sill there are two clips which retain a metal strip which I believe supports and retains the carpet. The cable runs under that strip. How are those clips released so I can remove the cable?

Thanks Bill... they are stiff little devices and don't release easily

        Hi Bill
Those clips released by doing just as you suggested. Now I am getting ready to reinstall that support strip back in those clips and I noticed that the strip has a notch cut into it slightly toward one end of the strip (not centered/symmetrical left-right). Does the notch go toward the front end of the car or toward the back end of the car? I don't really see why the notch is in there at all but I should have paid closer attention to the part as I was removing it. Thanks again for your help.

        Jim

Jim the notch goes up . If you put some lube or dawn soap on the clips they will go on better .

Notch is for wiring for power window switch and/or neutral safety switch on automatics

Thanks Jim... what is the purpose of the sill plug just outboard of the wire cover strip and under the sill?

If it were a roadster it's where a body bolt would go. Coupes do not have a body mount at that location so a plug is used.
