    Re: Quick Lift

This is mine. The basic lift comes bare metal, one bridge and NO casters. A powder coated version, second bridge and casters are extra options. I only bought an extra bridge and the casters.

I sometimes add three 2x6 boards between the rear legs and casters to gain a few inches.

I've had one for 9 or 10 years now, not as nice as a four post lift but if you have a low ceiling garage it is great.

          Tom,

How did you lift the Corvette to get jack stands under it? I don't see much room on the center bridge for a floor jack.

My god, it's like a carnival ride. I don't know if I'd have the nerve to drive on it; regular car ramps are scary enough. The sudden motion of the rocker coming down looks like a safety hazard.

I've never seen one before. Does anyone use one of these?

I have my 69 sitting on one for the past 10 years now. Great tool. Make up some 18 x 24 x 12 blocks from 4x4's to support the car rather then use jack stands. I put a bottle jack under the ramp and use the vette sissors jack to jack up the car on the lift, slide in the wood block( it's bolted together) and do the other side. I pulled the engine and trans out on the lift. Stripped the paint off and glassed in the fire wall and floor boards all on the lift.

                  Re: Quick Lift

This is confusing. Frank asked about Quick Lift, Tom showed photos of what I believe is Kwiklift, and Michael shared a link to a video showing another unnamed product from Studio P Innovations (which looks scary). I'm not sure what Gary is using.

When I Google Quick Lift, I see face lifts and lift kits for your pickup. There's also a product called QuickJack which looks pretty cool.

Since I bought the optional casters, I put the 56 on the lift-----------ON ITS TIRES----------then I pushed it out the back door of the garage (I have a drive-thru garage) onto what (was then) a 20ft slab behind the back door (I now have a full back drive). Once out back, I placed bottle jacks on the bridges and put the jack stands on the bridges and removed the wheels/tires. I did this so that I could get fully under the car to clean it with the power washer (in the above picture), as well as power wash inside the brakes. I NEVER moved the lift while the car was on the jack stands (YES, I felt that it would be WAAAAAAAAY to risky to roll the lift). Worked like a charm!

ORIGINALLY, Kwiklift was made in Tulsa. Then it was sold, and basically went out of business with the new owner. The last I heard, the previous owner came back in and put the business back together. I got that information from the original owner 2-3yrs ago. I've heard nothing since.

I have seen those out on the lot at car dealers. Once the car is up on the lift, the ramps are removed and used to brace the back end of the lift.
