Re: Bubba at it again
Hi Gary,
Very nice!
I recently saw a photo on another forum that showed car with a piece of flex duct running from the engine compartment through the firewall to one of the kick panel vents.
Would the smell alert Bubba to that fact that he was likely being asphyxiated?!?

Re: Bubba at it again
For my first car, I used dryer vent hose to fab an under bumper cold air induction.
Is it a bubba if it's a cool modification like this, or only if it's a repair?Mark Edmondson

Re: Bubba at it again
Yes Michael,
Here's the bubba fix for my hardtop latch which held up for my trip back from the Denver Convention from Beaver Utah through Vegas to Sonora, CA (about 800 miles):

But before that, out of Salina, Utah the temporary bubba latch fix on a desolate road was this with the luggage strap:
TempHardtopLatch (Medium).jpg
I drove about 60 miles with this luggage strap in my face holding the hard top down to the steering wheel, as I shimmied along on delaminated front tires. When I got to Beaver, Utah I got the piece of wire, as well as 4 new tires.
Here's my bubba luggage placement:

I little fancier but similar to my immigration to California from New York in 1969.
But the bubba car really looks good cruising in Utah:

As a result of my 2800 mile trip, I have 4 new tires, a new clutch, correctly fixed the hardtop latch, and figured out the secret to the failed 67 signal switch. Vinnie, look forward to a Restorer story, this trip was an adventure for my wife and I.Jerry Fuccillo

'63 PG Neutral Safety Switch. When I found it, I realized it must've broken years prior and Bubba simply reconnected the Purple Solenoid wire connectors together to bypass it. Found out when the wire inside under the dash got caught on the teeth of the Park Brake release.Dead short when trying to start the engine.

Re: Bubba at it again
I have to ask - I was hoping someone would provide the answer without me having to ask. So, when the fit between the defroster duct and the heater box is not tight - meaning there is a lot of space where are being forced through the heater box will escape and not go up the defroster duct as intended - what or how is the space sealed? I've looked through a number of parts catalogs and the AIM and I do not see a solution. On my '64 the fit between these two parts is not tight and snug, actually it is wide enough to be able to insert my small finger in between the parts. BTW - I am very confident that the heater parts in my car are original and the car was never hit. Thanks in advance to all that offer advice.Ed- Top
