Re: Un clearcoating an aluminum intake manifold
Here are 2 manifolds that I "restored". The one on the left was clear coated thick enough that it was peeling in spots. I used paint stripper followed up with lacquer thinner. The one on the right was polished and was shinny. I soda blasted both and they came out with a nice cast appearance. I also did a third that is on my 1970. Silver paint may look nice, but it's not right.
