63 convertible windshield reveal molding installation

I am having problems installing the side reveal molding on my 63 convertible. It appears that the retainers are too short to interlock or the outer lip of the windshield frame is too wide as a result of a fiber glass repair job. I have included some pictures of the driver side, but both sides have the same problem. The retainers are not in their final position, but positioned where you can see the incompatible lengths. Has anyone else encountered this problem or does anyone have a suggestion for resolving it?

If the clips on the side pcs. are reproduction, you will never get them to hook up. They are made for 64-67 and are not long enough.

Thanks Wayne. These are reproduction from Paragon. Maybe the screws in the side moldings will hold them tight enough.
