    Core support shims

I know that I have asked a similar question before regarding vertical shims for adjusting the height of the core support (fenders) but can someone tell me what the maximum shim thickness they have experienced using when restoring a 1967 coupe?
Since I'm not using the original frame and the original shims were "chiseled" off I have no reference.
    Please advise.

Typically its 2-4, but could be more or less, depending on the frame measurements. Just put the body on the frame and shim to level and fill the gaps.

I can tell you that I removed 5 on the passenger side and 3 on the driver side of my 66 during restoration of the frame. They were welded so I assume they were factory.

I have restored cars with as many as six shims on one side. That was original from the factory welded in place.

Yes, they are approximately 1/16" thick
