65 Wiring Diagram Question

I'm trying to figure out exactly where to land one of the wires in my 65 wiring harness. On the wiring diagram, it is labeled "Inst. Compt. Lamp & Sw.". It is on the glove box side of the car under the dash, but I don't see a place to land it.

I'm sure this is a dumb question, but can anyone tell me what this wire is for?

Ashley -- that is for the Glove Compartment lamp. It's probably a black wire with orange stripe (if original), maybe all orange if reproduction.

Are you possibly referring to the glovebox light? On the right side the passenger door light switch and lamp is the only thing that comes to mind.

I think it must be the glove box light. It is black with an orange stripe as Wayne described. Thanks for both replies. This should give me a direction to pursue.

I believe it has a strange looking hooked terminal on the end

Bill, that is correct. It almost has a hook like shape to it.

it is the glove box lighting wire. the reproduction bulb assemblies stink.

Just to help verify; see top left (original 64 harnes) The main harness over on passengers side.
