New Member. Just purchased 65 Coupe/327/auto/air. WHAT TO LOOK FOR...

Will pick up the car from Mershons in Springfield, OH. Trust their vehicle expertise. Have read all I can about frame rust, engine and paint. Car has smooth running engine, very good paint. I looked at the frame, as much as I could, no rust seen....Thanks for info from experienced owners.
    Thanks

Thanks. Mershons is fixing a few interior items, mainly cosmetic. Added power steering. Looking a VolVette and CorvetteAmerica for parts, if needed. Any suggestions for other good sites?

                Kent,
Nice car Welcome to the NCRS and to the forum. Couple other vendors to use is Dr. Rebuild and Paragon Corvette. Also, as others have or will state, "check here first with any questions or concerns you may have about your car or a part for your car".
Join your local NCRS chapter if there is one near you.
Best of luck with your car!

                  Kent,

I would recommend posting on here before buying parts. Folks on here will suggest the best source. Many times the best option is to restore the parts you have if at all possible. The reproduction parts usually differ from original parts. I'm assuming originality is important to you, maybe it isn't.

                  Joe

                    Hi Kent,
                    WELCOME!
That's a great looking car! You must be pretty excited!
I've found that the venders with the LEAST amount of shirts, cup holders, hats, etc. in their catalogue are often good choices for parts. But always check out carefully what you're buying.
I also agree that restoring the original part, if it can be done, is the best idea.
                    Good Luck!
                    Regards,
                    Alan

I believe that was one of the cars they had at Carlisle. I looked at it briefly. It seemed like a very nice car for the money. Nicely optioned Glen Green coupe. Enjoy it.

Very nice 65. It is good that it will be ready for cruising when you take possession . You will read many posts about how members had to do much work on their cars when they first got them, before being able to cruise.
                              Welcome Aboard.
