Hello,
I am thinking about pursuing the Founders. I am pretty sure my 78 will be able to achieve 2nd flight, but for sure third flight as it stands now. Therefore I started looking at the ops section of the judging manual and have determined I do not have the correct keys. I replace the ignition a few years ago and the letter code on the key is E and I need a J code. The ignition key is not really the problem, as I can purchase a blank correctly coded key from one of the corvette vendors. The problem I am having is with the oval key. Last week the knob to my glove box broke off (actually it looks like the PO glued it in place) I purchase a new assembly and receive the key with it, but this means the glove box will have a different key from the door locks, the rear compartment locks and the spare tire lock.
Can a new glove box cylinder be re-keyed (not sure if that is the correct terminology). This way I would have one oval key. I really don't want to replace all the locks. OR do I just take the deduct when it's judged and move on?
Thanks Bill
