I am looking for a reliable source for a new temperature sender and thermostat for my 63-340HP car. Prefer units that are tested if they are available.

Re: Temperture Senders-Thermostats
Many just buy 3-4 of the Wells TU-5 senders and use the one that is most accurate....its always a crap shoot. Putting a resistor in line to get the temp right at one temperature is done but the change isn't linear and errors will creep on either side of the selected temperature.- Top

Re: Temperture Senders-Thermostats
Thank for the information. Do you happen to know what the nominal resistance of the sender unit is over the normal car temperature range?- Top

Re: Temperture Senders-Thermostats
Richard, I buy Stant 180 degree thermostats from NAPA. The brownish gasket comes from Car Quest. If A car owner isn't having his car judged then I use the GM gasket. The black one that is the worlds best gasket but no good for our judging. John- Top
