    New carpet installation

Can I install/bolt my seats direct over the new carpet and jute or do I need to cut slots in the carpet to allow the seat brackets to be bolted directly to the fiberglass pan? I do not have the old carpet as a reference.

Search the archives, this has come up many times. There are photos of original carpets and sketches/diagrams. Bolting over and through the carpet is not NCRS correct.

      Hi Bruce,

What year? I believe the cut outs differ.

Jim, if I understand the drawing correctly, there's no removal of carpet, only cutting to form a hinged tabs at all four corners of the seat(s)...correct?

And while working on the carpet do not forget to make the correct cut at the accelerator rod area. Not sure of correct cut for 67, but most carpet I have seen have a lot of extra carpet in the subject area.

Correct, you cut the dotted lines but do not remove any carpet. The front 'flaps' hinge to the inside of the seat while the rear has two flaps on each rail. The flaps fold down over the bolts once the tracks are installed.
