Many of us are fortunate enough to have more comfortable transportation, sometimes newer vettes. I'll be honest, I wimped out the last two years and took my C6. With the great weather that is forecasted for the weekend, how many are taking the classic, and how far? I'm leaving Thursday and traveling about 300 miles each way, can't wait!! Have a fun and safe trip!!

Re: Who's driving their classic to Carlisle?
Leaving in about 2 hours from Cape Cod. It's 500 miles each way for me. Driving the C6 Z06. It's just more comfortable than the old cars and more room for everything. AC doesn't hurt either. I did drive the 61 down there a few years ago and enjoyed it. The weather looks like the best in many years.- Top

Re: Who's driving their classic to Carlisle?
Thanks Vinnie, We're leaving at the same time from eastern LI so we'll be a bit behind them. Also have plans to stop along the way. Which route do they take? Through the Bronx and out route 80 through the Pocono's or through Staten island taking the southern route (Route 76 I think)? Maybe we'll connect at some point along the way. Have a safe trip!!- Top

The joy of living 25 miles from the fair grounds means I can drive any car I want and sleep in my own bed each night. See you all there. I will be in the 63-67 registery aisle- Top

Re: Who's driving their classic to Carlisle?
Tom we are leaving Mineola at 6 AM . I have tried 3 different routes to Carlisle but I find taking the belt parkway across Staten Island to rt 78 and stay on that to 81 and then into Carlisle the best way . We will be stopping at the Crackerbarrel off 78 in New Jersey for breakfast and fueling up there.
The Metro-LI booth is located at ID 76 stop and get a cold drink

Re: Who's driving their classic to Carlisle?
Coming down from Syracuse on Friday . . . I had thought of taking the '62, but now we are planning an extended trip after the show to see the kids and grandkids in Virginia and Maryland before heading home, and that seemed like a bit much . . . so we'll be in the C6 convertible this year.- Top

Re: Who's driving their classic to Carlisle?
Thanks For the invite Mark, we're going the 80 way since we've got plans to stop for the afternoon before heading into Carlisle. When do you all leave Sunday? We're hoping to get out at a reasonable hour to hopefully avoid traffic.
Heading off in the '72 shortly! Safe trip to all whether in your daily driver or vette of any year. Enjoy!!- Top
