Replaced gage and sending unit with new ones gage doesn't work. Checked ground wire it's ok. What's wrong? Thanks in advance

Well did you try the old gage with new sending unit? It is a process of elimination. Does new gage work with old unit? Did old stuff work before replacement. Where did you get new stuff? If I could solve your problem without any info I would have bought that island and retired long ago.- Top

Phil,
If you ground the green wire at the temp sender you should peg the gauge all the way to the right, don't leave it on there for very long. My 67 had a restored cluster but my gauge read low like 140-150. I tried 4 different temp senders until I found the right one with low ohms reading like 115 ohms, now my temp gauge reads 180 when the water is at 180 with an IR gun. My other temp senders were reading higher about 144 ohms or more when the water was 180 and my gauge said it was 140-150.
