Would it be unheard of to require 1/2" of shim to be mounted underneath the core support to frame on the passenger side in order to level the body?

Re: '67 corvette coupe
Hi Bruce:
I have "nothing" on the right side of my St. Louis Coupe and 1/4 inch on the left (driver side) ---

I don't think it would have been a stretch to add two more shims (if they were needed) --- I will defer to others for more informed opinions --

Re: '67 corvette coupe
I think those shims are 1/16" thick. Original configuration these are tack welded to the frame. Generally there are 4 or less shims. More that that and the welding operation gets a bit sloppy. I suggest to take a look at how the core support is sitting relative to the inner fenders. There are screws that secure core support to the inner fenders. Check see if the core is sitting skewed relative to the body. Shims are used also to space the core to the inner fenders as required.- Top
