    '67 sagging a/c duct

I've scoured the AIM and the Service Manual and can't find the answer. My right side a/c ducting is hanging down about 1 1/2" below the "Z" bar. Shouldn't the duct be fairly snug to the z bar? I can see the duct clamp bolt (see pic). This bolt is not attached to the body/z bar anywhere. Is it supposed to be? I couldn't feel a hole in the z bar nor could I see any other place that the duct clamp bolt would attach to and can't figure out what else would hold the duct up and snug. Pretty cramped quarters for a 6'5" guy. Thanks for your assistance.

at the end of that duct/vent next to the kick panel is where it attaches to the bird cage. I would suspect around the screw your plastic is brittle and broken allowing it to sag. The other end is positioned in that clamp and held tight by the heater box.

      Keith,
Thanks for your reply. The vent end is securely attached next to the kick panel...no cracks that I can see. You state the the other end is "held tight by the heater box". Do you mean the duct clamp is attached to the heater box? If so, how? The duct clamp bolt is well over 1 1/2" and appears it should hold this center of the duct up and in place...somewhere. Thanks, again.

Other than going thru the center clamp, does your duct clamp bolt connect to anything else?

Nope. Just the clamp you see there and the single screw at the kick panel.
