    Mark T. Gorney

It is with a great deal ofd sadness that I report the death of long time Michigan Chapter member Mark Gorney. He was a wonderful person who worked tirelessly for our chapter and added his knowledge to help other members. Mark lost a long bout with cancer and will be missed by all. The funeral service for Mark will be held Friday, August 21 at the Snow Funeral Home , Saginaw, Michigan.

Mark will be missed by many of us in this hobby. As a retired employee of what is now Saginaw Metal Casting he brought a great deal of insight to our quest for understanding of the Corvette manufacturing processes. He was also active on the NCRS national level and in his community. RIP Mark.

I'm absolutely totally shocked by this. Mark was way too young to have been taken from us. Mark was a HUGE asset to the Corvette world. He was one of the few "windows" we had into the casting process and history, a subject that is of immense interest to me. Mark was also an excellent researcher and he and I collaborated on several occasions. I'm going to miss him a lot. I'll never forget him. Ever.

Another good one called home to lay in his Loving Lord's arms way too early. RIP Mark.

Absolutely terrible. What a shame. He taught me more about SMOG systems in 2 hours than I could have learned in 10 years of reading books. He was the softest spoken and nicest guy to talk with to boot. Unreal, and tragic. Thoughts and prayers go to his family from mine. RIP my friend. "Save the wave" as he always said....ARA

Mark was the quintessential "nice guy", always willing to help anyone - a patternmaker with a Master's Degree, a wealth of knowledge about 1960's Saginaw Foundry processes, a thorough and tireless researcher. I collaborated with Mark on many issues, and it was always a learning experience; I was honored to be considered his friend. God Bless Lori and the rest of the Gorney family.
