Have searched the threads and could not find an answer to a question I have regarding a '64 glove box door. Ditto with the JM. I am going to paint the black "leather grain surface" portion of the front of the glove box door. I will be using SEM Trim Black # 39143.
My question pertains to where the black stops and the chrome begins. Specifically I am referring to the larger chrome rim around the outer circumference of the door that stands proud of the adjacent black surface - not worried about the smaller chrome boundary between the black and satin aluminum insert.
Question is, does the black paint go up the side of the pot metal that stands out from the black area by about 1/8 of an inch or does the black stop at the corner of the 90 degree angle ? Essentially, is the black paint applied only on the flat leather grain surface or does it go up that 1/8th inch? Or for judging purposes does it not make a difference?
