    Courtesy light switch

The drivers door switch is adjusted as far out as it will go without falling out. The light stays on with the door shut. I can push in the switch with the door open and the light goes out. I cannot figure out what is wrong. I thought it might be a worn depression in the front jamb of the door but it is flat. Thought it might be the door adjustment but it is fairly typical. Appears to be the original switch. Do replacement switches have a longer adjustment range? I have resorted to taping a nickel to the door to get the light to go out when the door is closed. Any ideas what is wrong? See pictures. Car is a 75 but should be typical of all C3s.

Greg, the GM jamb switches are self adjustable what you need to do is install the switch back onto jam and take a pair of pliers and pull the pin outward,( will take slight pressure) you will see the plunger extend about a 1/4 to 1/2 inch and the when you close the door it will self adjust..

You should have it screwed into the jam so it gets a good ground from the bird cage

Thank you. I did not know that. Will try it tomorrow.
