I hate to restart a topic that has been addresses many times but.... having searched the archives I can't find the answers to a few interior paint color questions I have.
Questions pertain to 1964 convertible with dark blue vinyl interior (exterior is Daytona Blue). There are a number of paint source options available but I am uncertain as to which would satisfy judging (with respect to color and sheen). I would appreciate a response, (recommendation for product name and number) from anyone that has successfully Top Flighted a '64 with a dark blue interior.
Specifically, I need to repaint: 1) the speaker grill and center shifter console; 2) the back side (interior) of the glove box door and glove box door frame; 3) the black portions of the instrument cluster and the exterior of the glove box door;
1. Speaker grill and console: Several vendors offer "dye" in dark blue - they claim it can be used on vinyl or metal. I have concerns about the proper sheen. Any recommendations?
2. Back side of the glove box door and door frame: I see a lot of recommendations for SEM Trim Black # 39143 as having the right sheen - would this be the product to use?
3. Instrument cluster and front of glove box door: Uncertain as to what sheen is appropriate - and what product / brand of paint satisfies the accepted standard.
Finally - the cross member that the VIN and data plates are mounted on, mine is partially green (Zinc Chromate Primer) and partially flat black (over-spray from PO's restoration). While I have the glove box out I would like to paint it correctly - what color should it be?
Thanks in advance for your assistance.
