1967 - Battery Orientation on 327/350 with AC

    just a quick question...

when the battery is correctly installed, are the battery posts on the fender side or steering column side?

currently its with the posts on the fender side, but I find it extremely hard to use the quick disconnect. hard as heck to reach around the back etc...

    thanks in advance.

i owned a 1964 with factory air conditioning in 1968-1969 but do not remember where the positive battery cable is attached to the frame. I disconnect the negative battery cables from the frame of my 1968 and 1970 Corvettes when I am not going to drive them, it is so easy.

Positive post (+) is closest to the firewall and negative terminal (-) is closest to the windshield washer bag. Disconnect goes on the negative side of the battery.............it is not difficult for me to access.

My car is also a 1967 327/350 HP with factory AC.

Larry is absolutely correct. Be sure you have a Group 24 battery and not a Group 24F...the terminals are reversed.

            thanks for the great info...

i may have the wrong battery in the car.
which is why the top posts are on the fender side, not the steering column side.

will let u all know tomorrow.

              hey--

i have the correct battery, it was just put in the car incorrectly.
took 5 minutes to fix up and all is good.
              :-)

thanks for all the input from everyone.
