Bill -- that year would have been 1995, and the chassis was that of the Black/blk Canadian-delivered 396 tanker w/M22, VIN 18966, raced by David Billes, of Toronto Ont.
Documented in Colvin's appendix "Chev by the Numbers '65-69".
He was also at Cypress Gardens NCRS with that '66 L72 tanker that appears on the cover of an old Corvette News. It raced in the 24-hour Daytona Continental. (pic below)

Aside -- do you have that '65 L78 convertible, Silver/silver # 20344 on your lists ?- Top

Here are the 3 pictures I was going to post yesterday, before I was cut off [due to attempting to attach photo files too large, and maybe also having an apostrophe in a file name]..
John Waggoner got me back on when I sent him my latest IP address. Good to know in case any of you can't connect to the NCRS site, but all your friends can.
Curt is the one on the left; yours truly at his side. Fellow Canadians, eh ?

Bill, I don't believe that nowadays the NHTSA would allow gasoline to be sloshing around 8 inches behind your shoulder blades. Back about 5 years ago, there was talk on some discussion boards that Chevy was going to recall all remaining N03 Corvettes; not to crush them, but to retrofit with current technology, probably involving a bladder in metal tank of lesser capacity, and definitely NOT in the passenger compartment.- Top
