Re: 1970 Turn Signals not working
I decided to go check under the passenger side map pocket and found another flasher relay (light blue - TUNG-SOL 224 FLASHER) with a capacitor piggybacked onto the leads. The capacitor has 47 MFD 100 VDF stamped on it. Where is a good place to buy a replacement? Should the capacitor also be replaced? thanks

Re: 1970 Turn Signals not working
you can pickup the 224 flasher off eBay new. finding one dated - whole other issue.
the capacitor very rarely goes bad. i am pretty sure it was for noise reduction in the radio. you can plug the new flasher in w/o the capacitor and it works just fine.
I think the repro houses have it for sale as a reproduction part. it runs somewhere around 40-50 $$$
If you want to get creative - gut the inside of it out and reattach the ends. then it will look stock etc...- Top

Re: 1970 Turn Signals not working
Jim - I think Tung-Sol is now Wagner & Wagner makes a blue plastic 224. Most of the Auto Parts places should have a new 224 flasher or a suitable replacement & it won't cost very much. Get one & plug it in to see if it fixes the problem, then you go & find a NOS Tung-Sol flasher. Pete- Top

I had a problem on my 70 with the turn signals. It was the connector for the steering column.- Top
